WordRec is an automated word recognition, or speech discrimination, test that was developed and clinically-validated at UCSF. A word recognition test is one part of a formal hearing test that would normally be done by an audiologist or hearing specialist. Using your iPhone and EarPods, you can test your ability to recognize words in each of your ears.
Word recognition scores are a small part of a full hearing exam. If you have any questions or concerns about your hearing, you should see an audiologist or physician for a complete assessment.
